Kochi Dialogue: Charter of Participation
We prioritise creating an open, respectful, and safe environment for
all attendees of the Kochi Dialogue, irrespective of gender identity, sexual orientation,
nationality, ethnicity, religion, or ability. To uphold this goal, we request all
participants, including researchers, speakers, attendees, organisers, and venue staff, to
follow this Charter of Participation. Any violations of this code will have repercussions as
deemed necessary by the organising team.
We may announce additional guidelines or updates during the event,
which we request everyone to follow.
Violations of the Charter of Participation
We expect all participants to adhere to this Code of Conduct and
respect our anti-harassment policies throughout the conference.
If a conference organiser requests you to cease any prohibited
behaviour, you are expected to comply immediately. Repeated violations may result in
appropriate action, including removal from the event or reporting to relevant authorities.
Reporting Violations
If you experience or witness harassment or other unacceptable
behaviour, please notify a conference organiser immediately. Event organisers will be easily
identifiable and available throughout the event. If you prefer to file a complaint
anonymously, you may submit a handwritten or typed grievance to any member of the organising
team.
Emergency Contacts
- Law Enforcement: In case of emergencies, contact Kochi Police by dialling 100 and
inform a conference organiser of the issue.
- Medical Assistance: If you require medical attention, please notify a member of
the organising team immediately.
Expected Conduct
Professionalism
We expect all participants to maintain the highest standards of
professionalism during the conference.
Dress Code
Business formal or traditional attire is recommended to maintain the
decorum of the event.
Conference Participation
- Be respectful, understanding, and mindful of fellow participants.
- Engage in discussions with an open and inclusive mindset.
- Avoid using profanity or slurs.
- If attending a session, remain seated for its duration.
Drugs and Alcohol
We abide by and enforce all local, state and central laws and
regulations surrounding possession and/or use of illegal substances. In addition, please
limit tobacco use to permitted areas. Alcohol consumption is not permitted during the event.
Safety
- All participants share the responsibility of ensuring a safe environment. Report any
danger or misconduct to conference organisers immediately.
- Weapons, violence, or disruptive behaviour, including organised demonstrations, are
strictly prohibited.
Anti-Harassment Policy
CPPR enforces a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of harassment,
which includes but is not limited to:
- Offensive or derogatory comments about gender, sexual orientation, nationality,
ethnicity, religion, or ability.
- Inappropriate or unwanted physical contact.
- Use of profanity, slurs, or intimidating language.
- Display of inappropriate content or images.
- Violence, threats, stalking, or intimidation of any kind.
- Excessive or unwanted photography of participants.
By participating in the Kochi Dialogue, attendees agree to abide by
these guidelines, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for everyone.
